Thanksgiving cookies

Today we went to our friend Jill's house to decorate Thanksgiving cookies. Nathan made two cookies (one for him and one for his daddy). He spread the icing and then put sprinkles on. The only problem was he kept eating the icing off of the cookie. Overall he did a pretty good job and the cookies were delicious (I had to make one for myself)!

Ear Infection

Nathan is getting to be too smart. He woke up yesterday morning and instead of his usual greeting "chocolate milk please" - he said "ear hurt". He had a runny nose for a couple of days but no big deal - so I kept asking him - does your ear hurt, I was pushing on it - he never said another thing about it. I was going to ignore it - the bad mother that I am and then my friend, Elizabeth encouraged me to take him (probably b/c she had been wiping his nose all morning while I was at the doctor). So I took him to the doctor that afternoon (luckily they could fit us in) but then I felt so silly telling the doctor - well, he has a runny nose for a couple of days and he said his ear hurt once. Then she checked and sure enough Nathan had an ear infection! I am so glad that I took him! And I am so glad that he is smart enough to tell me because he did not have a fever and I would have never dreamed his ear hurt.

Nathan's 2 year appointment

Nathan had his 2 year check-up on November 2nd.
He weighed 25.2 lbs. (approx. 15th percentile)
His length 33 1/4 in. (approx. 20th percentile)
His head circumference 19 1/4 in. (approx. 55th percentile)
He got his chicken pox vaccine and the doctor gave him an A+ on everything.
Nathan does not have another check-up until 3! Yeah!

Halloween

Nathan had a great Halloween. He was not a big fan of costumes when we tried one on him to buy so we decided that he could just be a football player and wear his regular clothes.
Brad was very excited to carve the pumpkin with Nathan but Nathan wanted nothing to do with scooping all of the insides out.

This is Nathan getting ready to carve the pumpkin or so we thought.
Here grandmama is helping Nathan put on his eye black.
Nathan and Daddy
Nathan all ready to go trick or treating!
Unfortunately, it was raining off and on so Nathan did not get to go too long. He was really just getting the hang of it when they had to come back home. He trick or treated our house - it was so cute - he said trick or treat, clapped for himself and then took a piece of candy from our bucket. It was a big two days!

Nathan's 2nd Birthday

Nathan had a great 2nd birthday! He was so happy that his "/gre/mama" was here to celebrate it with him.
He started the day by opening his train set from Nanny and Gramps. He was very excited and played with it the whole morning.
Once Brad and I returned from the doctor - Nathan helped make Brownie cookies. He did a great job! They were Yummy!

After Nap, we took him to his favorite place, Monkey Joe's. He had a great time jumping!
We forgot the camera - sorry no pictures.
Then we came home and had his new favorite food, pizza! He is dipping it in ranch.

Then, it was time for more gifts - here he is opening his workbench from his Aunt Beth.

Here he is opening some new books from Grandmama.

This is the part that cracked me up. At his birthday party, he thought we were crazy singing happy birthday to him and he did not blow out his candles. On his actual birthday, as soon as I lit the candles - he started singing happy birthday to Nathan to himself - blew out the candles so fast we did not get a picture and started clapping for himself. It was so funny, we had to light the candles about 4 times and let him do it over and over.

It was a very long happy day and Nathan ended it by reading with his grandmama.
This is Nathan's birthday picture but we had to take it a few days late - it was ofcourse raining on his birthday.

Nathan's 2nd Birthday Party

Nathan had his 2nd birthday party on Oct. 24th. He had a great time with his family and friends. Here they are playing outside eventhough I thought it was entirely too cold.

Enjoying his cake! It was so good!
Opening his gifts - I think he felt like I was rushing him. He wanted to examine everything.
Having ice cream with Nicholas and Alice.
